Mencap has partnered with Essex Insulation to offer FREE loft & cavity wall insulation.
*What is home insulation?
Home insulation can include loft insulation and cavity wall insulation.
Loft insulation is a thick material simply rolled onto the loft floor reducing heat wastage. As much as 25% of all the heat lost from an average home escapes through the roof.
Cavity wall insulation is a filling blown into the gaps between the external (outside) walls of your home.

Did you know that around 45% of the heat lost through the walls of your home is not insulated? Insulating your solid walls can reduce heat loss and can save you around £400 to £500 a year on your heating bill.
It's usually easy to install and often takes less than a day.
Why are we offering FREE insulation?
The Government has instructed energy companies to offer grants for home insulation.
Mencap and Essex Insulation are working together to make sure everyone with a learning disability benefits by receiving the FREE home insulation grant they are entitled to.
This offer only applies if you have no existing insulation in your home.
Essex Insulation firmly supports Mencap in valuing and supporting people with a learning disability.
Through our partnership, we want to ensure that we offer everyone the ability to reduce their monthly energy costs through access to a home insulation grant.
For every surveyor visit and insulation installed Mencap will receive a donation from Essex Insulation at no cost to you.
How to apply
This special offer applies to anyone whose home is suitable for installing insulation and in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Attendance Allowance
- Council Tax Benefit
- Child or Working Tax Credit (income no more than £16,190).
- Disability Living Allowance
- Disablement Pension (includes Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Housing Benefit
- Income Support
- Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- State Pension Credit
- War Disablement Pension
If you qualify we will then arrange for one of our surveyors to come round to your home and carry out a FREE survey.
How will it save me money?
Insulation keeps heat in, so you won't need to have your heating on as much to keep your home warm.
